0135 Better Sleep Quality is Associated with Charitable Donations: Data from Two Population-Based Surveys

Abstract Introduction Insufficient sleep alters emotional processing, leading to impaired recognition and expression of emotions, greater endorsements punishing behaviors, withdrawal compassionate helping. Using data from two national surveys, we investigated whether quality duration were associated with willingness donate local charities, religious institutions, political parties. Methods We conducted secondary analyses independent samples: Wave 5 6 the Baylor Religion Survey (BRS-5 BRS-6). The BRS-5 included 1,501 participants (2017) BRS-6 1,248 (2021). Both surveys used random address-based sample methodologies approximate population-representative samples, stratification weighting targets matching demographics for age, gender, race/ethnicity, education, region. Each survey inquired about donations In addition, questions (restedness, onset latency); only quality.
